The famous architect Le Corbusier says ‘Architecture is the learned game, correct and magnificent, of forms assembled in the light. Our eyes are made to see forms in light; light and shade reveal these form’
As humans we have been blessed with eyes which can perceive a huge dynamic range in light and view the world around us with amazing accuracy. Currently, camera technology has not caught up with the human eye and therefore a different approach is required.
Phil’s approach blends the use of natural and artificial light not only creating an accurate representation but also conveys the feel of the environment to the viewer. Good quality equipment is important to create these images from the Tilt Shift lenses, carpet rakes through to the calibrated monitoring in the edit suite to provide colour accuracy. Combining this equipment with a great sense of composition builds fantastic images.
